The Main Structure of the Project of Guangzhou Nansha International Logistics Center (North Area) Being Topped Out One Month in Advance

In late July, the main structure of the project of Guangzhou Nansha International Logistics Center (North Area) was topped out, which was one month ahead of the planned construction period, marking the completion of the main structure construction of the largest port-neighboring sea-rail intermodal logistics warehouse in the south of China. Forming a “north-south echo” with Guangzhou Nansha International Cold Chain Project (South Area Project) topped out on June 28, it will further leverage the unique advantages of Guangzhou Port’s multimodal transport and transportation hub to promote the upgrade of port services.

The project of Guangzhou Nansha International Logistics Center (North Area) is located on the east side of Haigang Avenue, Longxue Island, Nansha District, Guangzhou, with a total land area of 167,648.2 square meters and a floor area of 314,078.3 square meters. It mainly constructs three 6-storeyed warehouses in the intermodal storage area as sea-rail intermodal logistics warehouses and ordinary logistics warehouses, as well as a 12-storeyed supporting area for logistics and E-commerce companies nearby. The estimated total investment of the project is about RMB 1.665 billion. And the construction of the project started in January 2019 and is expected to be completed in June 2021.

The project of Guangzhou Nansha International Logistics Center (North Area) is adjacent to Nansha Terminal Phase III of Guangzhou Port. It is located in the important sea-rail intermodal hub area and close to the container yard of the port. There is a railway loading and unloading area in the logistics park, which can realize the direct transshipment between the railway and the park and between the railway and the port area. In advantage of the port-neighboring sea-rail intermodal trunk line transport and the integrated management of the park and the port area, the project is designed to be a large-scale port-neighboring sea-rail intermodal comprehensive logistics park based in the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area, influencing South China and functioning worldwide.

This year, due to COVID-19, on-site construction was not so easy. To ensure the realization of the construction milestones, Guangzhou Port Nansha Project Office took the lead in setting up a COVID-19 prevention leading group, formulated various specific COVID-19 prevention measures in response to the supervision difficulties of the large manpower input in the south and north logistics areas, and required the builder to increase manpower input by 30% on the basis of the original plan to ensure the proceeding of the project as scheduled. At the same time, it coordinated and organized all participating co-builders to establish COVID-19 prevention agencies, prepare COVID-19 prevention plans, set up isolation areas, conduct COVID-19 prevention drills, and inspect the implementation of various COVID-19 prevention and control measures, which ensured the orderly progress of resumption of work and production during the COVID-19 period, guaranteed the COVID-19 prevention and control for more than 1,500 people involved in the project, minimized the impact of COVID-19, and guaranteed the completion of topping-out of the main structure of the project one month in advance.
