On March 30, Li Yibo, Secretary of the Party Committee and Chairman of Guangzhou Port Group, led a team to the Nansha Phase IV Project for investigation and guidance. Relevant responsible persons from the Group Office, Nansha Office, Engineering Management Company, Nansha Phase IV Project, and the Nansha Phase IV Project Department of CCCC Fourth Harbor Engineering Co., Ltd. participated in the investigation.

The investigation team inspected the construction work at the project site, and listened to reports on project safety and quality management, construction progress of hydraulic and civil work bid section, progress plans for important milestones, and difficulties and problems in the construction process. At present, the Nansha Phase IV Project has completed the construction of the main structure of the first 100,000-DWT container berth, and is simultaneously advancing the installation work of power supply and lighting and the manufacturing of automated handling equipment, with 52% of the total investment of the project achieved. In terms of information systems, the development of the second version of the user test has been completed, and the development of the first version of the real machine multi-system joint commissioning is progressing in an orderly manner. In April, the Nansha Phase IV Project prepared to launch the first deployment of the automated system in the production environment with Zhenhua Heavy Industry in the port area. In the middle of the year, joint commissioning will be started for some berths, and great efforts will be made to try to complete the construction of the main project of the terminal in the fourth quarter of this year.

To ensure the progress of the project, the Nansha Phase IV Project and all construction participating units have set up an on-site joint dispatching work group for the automation project to grasp key issues such as hydraulic berths, roads, pipelines and power supply, strengthen organization and coordination, and refine and decompose key milestones. The grid-based management model is implemented, and the work plan is assigned to shifts and teams for implementation on a monthly, weekly, and daily basis, and specific tasks are decomposed and assigned to individuals, who will give feedback on daily, weekly and monthly progress according to the work plan, so as to deal with existing problems in a timely manner.

Li Yibo emphasized that this year marks the 100th anniversary of the founding of the Communist Party of China, and is also a crucial year for the completion of the Nansha Phase IV fully automated terminal. All construction participating units shall further improve their political position and make joint efforts to speed up the construction of the automated terminal with high quality and high standards. First, we shall earnestly do a good job in site safety management. The Phase IV construction site has many operating points and a wide coverage. All participating units shall strictly implement various production safety and epidemic prevention and control measures, investigate and eliminate potential safety hazards in a timely manner, and carry out the project safely; second, we shall steadily promote important milestone work, and all participating units shall strengthen communication, and fully prepare for joint commissioning of automated equipment; third, we shall focus on project quality, pay attention to construction details, strictly control project quality, and build a high-quality project; fourth, we shall do a good job in logistics management and service guarantee, put people first, and care for the front-line workers at the site.
