Recently, the newly upgraded “Suigang No. 6 Crane Ship” was successfully delivered on the shoreline of Nansha Terminal. After the upgrade, the lifting capacity of the crane ship is increased from 16 tons to 40 tons, and the lifting frequency and other parameters are basically remained. After the ship is officially put into operation, it will further optimize the crane ship capacity structure of the company and improve the load reduction and  transfer capacity of anchorage  in Guangzhou Port.

The "Suigang Crane Ship No. 6" is the first coastal crane ship of Guangzhou Port Group Shipping Affairs Co., Ltd., which was delivered in 1995. Its original lifting capacity was 16 tons, and it is the main force of the Company for load reduction in Lantau. The crane ship has been in operation for more than 20 years. Under the situation that the ocean-going ships continue to grow in size, its operating efficiency can no longer meet the needs of the market. In order to improve its lifting capacity, the Company actively carried out planning and launched the upgrade of the crane ship in October 2020. (Text by Wang Junpeng, Picture by Hao Heping)
