Recently, the "CNC JAGUAR," the first vessel on CMA CGM's new NT8 route, successfully docked at Phase II Terminal of Guangzhou Port's Nansha Port Area, marking the official launch of a new international shipping route linking northern and southern China with Thailand's key markets. The debut of this route represents a significant step forward for Guangzhou Port and CMA CGM in strengthening their regional network across Asia. It also marks a significant upgrade in Nansha Port Area’s radiating capacity as an international trade hub in South China, offering stronger support for economic and trade exchanges between the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area and Southeast Asia.
The new route will follow the port rotation of: Tianjin–Dalian–Qingdao–Hong Kong–Shekou–Laem Chabang–Hong Kong–Nansha–Tianjin. With Nansha Port Area's superior deep-water berth facilities, efficient handling operations, and comprehensive support services, the NT8 route establishes an optimized logistics network connecting "Northern China Ports—Laem Chabang—Nansha," further enhancing the density and service capacity of Nansha’s Southeast Asia service network.
This new route will also provide a fast and direct shipping solution for goods like fresh fruits, rubber wood, and rice from Thailand to South China, creating a more efficient logistics platform for South Chinese enterprises to “go global” and for Southeast Asian products to “enter China” more efficiently.(Text | Cui Boyi, Liu Wobin Picture | Chen Lingfeng)
