Guangzhou Port Co., Ltd Realizes Increased Production Output and Efficiency in June (Picture)


 
Port is an important line of “defending against imported cases”. In June, Party organization and Party members of Guangzhou Port Co., Ltd. conducted in-depth learning and education of Party history, and insisted on balanced promotion of epidemic prevention and control and port production, which transformed the learning outcomes of Party history into work performance and built a strong defense to contain the epidemic. In June, Guangzhou Port Co., Ltd. set a monthly record in terms of grain receiving and unloading volume, foreign trade container throughput, shuttle bus and railway transportation volume and other production indicators, which effectively guarantees the material supply and unimpeded logistics chain and supply chain in South China.
 
Grain: Promote production and guarantee security  In view of substantial growth in grain imports, Guangzhou Port Co., Ltd. has held several special meetings on grain receiving and unloading to make unified deployment for grain receiving and unloading by ship, fully implement the national grain security strategy, and steadily guard the “grain bag”. In June, a total of 2.444 million tons of grain have been received and unloaded, up by 22.6 percent year on year. Nansha Liangtong Co., Ltd., Xinsha Co., Ltd. and Xingang Co., Ltd. seized the opportunity and made precise efforts to temporarily establish Party Branch in the front-line closed-loop management area at the terminal. The Party Branch has led the majority of Party members and workers to “fight against high temperature and the epidemic, guarantee security and achieve high yield”, and spared no efforts to ensure the orderly production. In June, Nansha grain terminal received and unloaded 19 grain ships, setting a new monthly record again by virtue of 1.054 million natural tons of grain received and unloaded, with a year-on-year increase of 68.9%, realizing the goal of “celebrating the centenary of the founding of the Communist Party of China with one million tons of grain”. During the lockdown period, Xinsha Company fully and strictly implemented various epidemic prevention and control measures, assisted customers in applying for the pass, and ensured the safe and orderly production. In June, the receiving and unloading capacity reached 736,000 tons. Xingang Company has vigorously promoted the business of “shift from bulk transport to container transport”. 50,000 tons of goods were loaded into containers after implementation of “shift from bulk transport to container transport” in a single month, setting a new record, which could create favorable conditions for subsequent grain production and ensure grain production security in the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area.

Container: Expand routes and guarantee unblocked routes  Since late May, due to the impact of the epidemic on the port and shipping logistics industry in South China, some liner companies have transferred their ports of call to Nansha Port Container Terminal. Guangzhou Port Co., Ltd. has strengthened unified command, conducted investigation and judgment on a daily basis, and adhered to the policy of guaranteeing unloading with distribution. As a result, the throughput of foreign trade containers has achieved a year-on-year increase of 30.4%, setting a record of a single month for foreign trade containers. Resources of Nansha Port Area Phases I and II and Phase III have been shared in the port area, the arrangements for ship entering and leaving the port have been optimized and the production at the terminal has been fully organized. Employees as Party members have given up their holidays and stayed on their posts. Online booking and paperless handling have been promoted. The route business expansion has been strengthened. THE Alliance Nordic Route FE2 was officially affiliated to Nansha Port Area on June 2. Thus, the three global container liner alliances have gathered in Nansha. By the end of June, Guangzhou Port Co., Ltd. has opened 179 container liner routes, including 134 foreign trade routes, and Nansha Port Area has opened 160 liner routes, including 128 foreign trade routes and 32 domestic trade routes.
 
Logistics chain: Solve customers’ difficulties  In order to improve container distribution efficiency, Guangzhou Port Co., Ltd. plays the role of the “shuttle buses” in bridging Nansha Port Area with small and medium-sized terminals in the Pearl River Delta, strengthens the barge transport capacity organization, promotes the WGO pattern, mitigates the operating pressure of Nansha trailers, and improves the efficiency of collecting and distributing ports. Guangzhou Port Shipping Company establishes a “Party member marketing class” which is responsible for taking the initiative to plan and optimize logistics service schemes by timely increasing transport capacity of ships and increasing number of runs to ensure the uninterrupted service around the clock. In the face of the current strain of shortage of international container transportation market capacity and containers, the customers’ difficulties in “container pick-up, insufficient trailers and pulling into the port” have been solved through urging shipping companies to release shipping space and extending container use period. 42,700 TEU were subject to shuttle bus WGO business in June, up by 178.52% year on year, setting a new record. Guangzhou Port Logistics Co., Ltd. focuses on safety production and ensures smooth port and railway transport.
