Recently, Guangzhou Port Co., Ltd. held the 2025 production work conference. The conference comprehensively summarized the production situation in 2024, carefully planned the production work blueprint for 2025, and required firm establishment of supply chain thinking, enhancement of the level of port hubs, and promotion of comprehensive quality and efficiency improvement. Huang Bo, Secretary of the Party Committee, Chairman, and General Manager of Guangzhou Port Group, delivered a concluding speech. Zheng Lingtang, General Manager of Guangzhou Port Co., Ltd., deployed the work priorities for 2025. Ma Jinqi, Li Mingzhong, and Sun Bangcheng, Deputy General Managers of Guangzhou Port Co., Ltd., He Sheng, Chief Financial Officer, and Pu Ruikui, Deputy Chief Economist, made relevant work arrangements. Heads of relevant departments and units of the headquarters attended the conference.
The conference pointed out that the shipping situation in 2024 is complex and severe, with both internal and external pressures on port production. Over the past year, the company has remained calm and adaptable, pressed forward under pressure, and effectively overcome various challenges such as fluctuations in the shipping market, downward demand in some cargo markets, and intensified competition in surrounding areas. The level of port hubs has steadily improved, and the comprehensive logistics function has continued to enhance. The main indicators of the target tasks have been completed, and the overall production and operation have remained stable in a complex situation, achieving the overall goal of "steady progress" and taking new solid steps towards high-quality development.
The conference required that we should have a clear understanding of the current problems and shortcomings, unify our thinking, strengthen our confidence, face difficulties squarely, accurately align with national policies, accurately grasp the economic development situation and industry development trends, strive to transform all positive factors into development achievements, and promote the comprehensive completion of various production and operation indicators for 2025.
One is to comprehensively and deeply establish business thinking, unwaveringly transform from a production-oriented model to a business-oriented model, strengthen business data analysis, finely manage and control business costs, and continuously improve management quality and efficiency.
The second is to firmly establish supply chain thinking, accelerate the transformation and upgrading from a port operator to a comprehensive supply chain service provider, and plan and organize port business with a broader perspective. Strengthen top-level design and promote overall planning, create supply chain service products that meet customers’ personalized and refined needs through connections, chains, and networking, reduce customers’ comprehensive logistics costs, and shape new advantages and open up new space through supply chain construction.
The third is to closely focus on the development strategy of “hub + channel + network”, continuously improve port capacity and efficiency, strengthen inland channel construction, accelerate the improvement of comprehensive logistics network, and comprehensively build a three-dimensional integrated logistics system of points, lines and surfaces.
The fourth is to strengthen the construction of the cadre team, enhance the level of professional competence, strengthen communication among business personnel, establish a reasonable talent echelon, and cultivate a comprehensive talent team. Strictly enforce business discipline, strengthen the construction of team work style, and build a clean, upright, and responsible high-quality cadre team.
The conference called that we should focus on our main responsibilities and businesses, seize strategic opportunities, push forward under pressure, and overcome difficulties in the face of new opportunities and challenges; and with a more vigorous spirit and a more solid work style, we should promote the comprehensive quality and efficiency improvement of port production, and make greater contributions to the development of the Group and Guangzhou Port Co., Ltd.
