Huang Bo Attends the Convention between Carriers and Ports for Ocean Alliance 2026 and Delivers a Keynote Speech


 
Recently, the Convention between Carriers and Ports for Ocean Alliance 2026 was successfully held in Boao, Hainan. At the 10th anniversary of the establishment of the Ocean Alliance, the convention, themed “Gathering Strength in the Same Chain, Sailing toward the Blue Ocean Together”, aims to gather global port and shipping intelligence, deepen industrial chain collaboration, and jointly explore new prospects for the blue economy.
 
The Convention was attended by Yang Guoqiang, Vice Governor of Hainan Province, Xu Zuyuan and He Jianzhong, former Vice Ministers of the Ministry of Transport, Xu Lirong, Chairman of the China Shipowners Mutual Assurance Association, Gu Jinshan, President of the China Ports and Harbours Association, Zhu Bixin, Director and General Manager of COSCO SHIPPING Group, and Lin Ji, Zhang Feng and Li Wei, Vice General Managers of COSCO SHIPPING Group. Representatives from member units of the Ocean Alliance, global port and shipping enterprises, key supply chain partners, as well as numerous renowned experts and scholars, were also present. Huang Bo, Secretary of the Party Committee and Chairman of Guangzhou Port Group, and Sun Bangcheng, Deputy General Manager of Guangzhou Port Co., Ltd., were invited to attend the event.
 
At the convention, Huang Bo delivered a keynote speech titled “Advancing Logistics Corridor Construction through Sea-Rail Intermodal Transport”. On behalf of Guangzhou Port Group, he extended warm congratulations on the successful ten-year cooperation of the Ocean Alliance and expressed sincere gratitude for the long-standing care and support from partners towards the development of Guangzhou Port. He noted that the global supply and logistics chains are undergoing profound transformations. Under this context, Guangzhou Port Group has been consistently strengthening its port hub functions, comprehensively enhancing integrated logistics service capabilities, and accelerating digital and intelligent transformation. By leveraging the certainty of win-win cooperation with the Ocean Alliance to counter the uncertainties of the shipping market, the Group is actively contributing to the stable and efficient operation of global industrial and supply chains, as well as global economic prosperity and development. In recent years, Guangzhou Port Group has accelerated the implementation of its "Hub + Corridor + Network" strategy, continuously leveraging the advantages of its comprehensive hub and multimodal transport network, expanding its end-to-end logistics service network, and establishing efficient and convenient land-sea corridors to facilitate the domestic and international dual circulation and support the high-quality development of the real economy. In 2025, Guangzhou Port Group handled a cargo throughput of over 610 million tons and a container throughput of more than 27 million TEUs, with its foreign trade container throughput achieving double-digit annual growth and surpassing domestic trade volume, which marked a structural transformation from being “China's top domestic trade port” to a “dual-circulation hub”, solidifying its role as an indispensable link in the global supply chain. In the future, Guangzhou Port Group will steadfastly commit itself to national strategies such as building China into a transportation and maritime powerhouse, as well as the “Belt and Road" Initiative, accelerate the implementation of its “13366” strategic plan, actively respond to the Boao Declaration 2026, deepen all-round cooperation with COSCO Shipping and the Ocean Alliance, and build a stable, efficient, resilient, secure, and risk-resistant global supply chain network with joint efforts. It will endeavor to enhance integrated, secure, digital, intelligent, and green development and provide smarter, more environmentally friendly, and efficient logistics solutions for global trade. Moreover, it will adhere to the principles of extensive consultation, joint contribution, and shared benefits, collaborate with port and shipping partners to promote a new global shipping governance system that is fairer, more inclusive, cooperative, and mutually beneficial, and contribute port and shipping strength to building an open world economy.
