Recently, the Liuzhou Sea-Rail Intermodal Transport Promotion Conference for Industrial Products and the unveiling ceremony of Liuzhou Inland Port of Guangzhou Port were held grandly in Liuzhou. Li Mingzhong, Deputy General Manager of Guangzhou Port Co., Ltd., and Huang Liping, Deputy Secretary of the District Committee and Chief of Liunan District, Liuzhou, attended the event and unveiled the plaque for Liuzhou Inland Port of Guangzhou Port. Zhou Hanpeng, Director of the Planning Department of Guangzhou Port Authority, and Xiao Jiayong, Deputy Director of Liuzhou Municipal Bureau of Commerce, attended the event and delivered speeches.

Zhou Hanpeng stated that the establishment of Liuzhou Inland Port of Guangzhou Port, which is a fruitful result of the joint efforts of Liuzhou and Guangzhou, as well as the linkage between inland areas and ports, will further promote the upgrading of the sea-rail intermodal transport channel between Liuzhou and Guangzhou Port. This will help Guangzhou Port provide more economical, efficient, safe, and stable “one-stop” and “door-to-door” comprehensive logistics services for local import and export enterprises in Liuzhou, which is of great significance for promoting economic development, improving logistics efficiency, and optimizing resource allocation of Liuzhou.

More than 70 local production enterprises in Liuzhou and representatives from more than 10 well-known domestic and foreign shipping companies were invited to attend the event. The theme of the event is to promote sea-rail intermodal transport. Through the sea-rail intermodal trains from Liuzhou to Nansha Port, local export goods from Liuzhou can be transported directly to Nansha Port by railway, making it convenient for such goods to reach the world through Guangzhou Port’s 173 foreign trade routes.

Industry insiders expressed that this event is a concrete practice of Liuzhou City joining hands with Guangzhou Port to expand a new sea-rail intermodal transport channel, helping Liuzhou’s manufacturing products “go global”, and promoting Liuzhou's strong and open development towards the sea.

It is learned that in recent years, Guangzhou Port has been active in building a comprehensive logistics system of “hub + channel + network” relying on the core logistics hub of Nansha Port Area. It has accumulatively set up 35 inland ports and offices in the Pan-Pearl River Delta region, launched 39 sea-rail intermodal trains, and built a sea-rail intermodal channel network connecting inland areas and Guangzhou Port to the rest of the world.
