The Ministry of Transport Commended a Group of Advanced Collectives and Exemplary Individuals, and Guangzhou Port Is Listed on the List



Recently, the Ministry of Transport held a commendation conference for advanced collectives, model workers and exemplary individuals in the national transportation system in Beijing. 195 “Advanced Collectives in the National Transport System”, 288 “Model Workers in the National Transport System” and 193 “Exemplary Individuals in the National Transport System” were commended. The Department of Transport of Guangdong Province set up a sub-venue to commend the award-winning advanced representatives of Guangdong Province. Guangzhou Nansha United Container Terminal Co., Ltd. (Nansha Phase IV) won the title of “Advanced Collective in the National Transport System”, and Zhong Zhuojian from Xingang Company won the title of “Model Worker in the National Transport System”.
 
Guangzhou Nansha United Container Terminal Co., Ltd. is the first newly built fully automated terminal in the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area, making positive contributions to Guangzhou’s leadership in constructing the Greater Bay Area into a functional carrier area of international shipping and technological innovation and building a world-class port cluster.
 
Faced with challenges such as foreign technological monopolies and high-precision centimeter level positioning, the company’s team has tried more than 10 navigation technologies, compiled technical specifications consisting of 570,000 Chinese characters, and finalized the design scheme for a new-generation of intelligent container terminals. From equipment construction to system development, localization has been achieved, and the core technology is independently controllable and replicable, contributing Chinese wisdom and Guangzhou solutions to the promotion of automated terminal technology and the transformation of traditional terminal automation. It has successively obtained 19 national invention patents, 42 utility model patents, and 10 software copyrights, and has won dozens of awards such as the “Asia Pacific Green Port” and the “May Day Labor Award of Guangdong Province”. With the technological “hard power”, it has built a new-generation smart port benchmark.
 
Zhong Zhuojian, currently the leader of the Machinery Team of the Crane Squadron of the Production Operation Department, Xingang Port Branch of Guangzhou Port Co., Ltd., has been rooted in the front line of port operations for 20 years without changing his original intention. He strives for excellence and practices over a hundred times for proficient movements, gradually becoming a benchmark in the gantry crane operation industry. He has been awarded the honors of “National Transportation Technology Expert” and “National May Day Labor Medal”, and won multiple championships in provincial and municipal gantry crane operator skill competitions. In  tasks such as labor competition of 15 whole ships, he worked together with the team to repeatedly set new records for dock unloading, with a daily unloading efficiency 1.2 times higher than that of ordinary operators, saving the company about 570 working hours and indirectly increasing revenue by 1.5 million yuan in one year.
 
As the leader of the provincial innovation studio, Zhong Zhuojian has carried out multiple innovative projects to assist in the remote control and automation transformation of bulk cargo loading and unloading, achieving digital and intelligent management of the unloading process. In practicing the spirit of model workers, he delved into teaching, innovated on the learning modes, and formulated the “Zhong Zhuojian Gantry Crane Operation Method”. He taught over 200 class hours every year and mentored 40 students, including one who won the “May Day Labor Medal of Guangdong Province” and five who became technical experts at the provincial and municipal levels. He also serves as an external mentor, undertaking practical training work, and has been invited multiple times to participate in skill exchange activities to share experiences, such as model workers assisting enterprises and model workers joining teams.
