Guangzhou Port Group Attends the 12th Annual Meeting of China Shipping 50 Forum

Recently, the 12th Annual Meeting of the China Shipping 50 Forum, hosted by China Shipping Gazette, was held in Nansha, Guangzhou. The conference, themed “Integrating the Dual Circulation through the 15th Five-Year Plan,” brought together leading figures from major port, shipping, and logistics enterprises across mainland China, Hong Kong, Macao, and Taiwan, as well as authoritative experts, to engage in forward-looking and strategic discussions on key industry topics. Huang Bo, Party Secretary and Chairman of Guangzhou Port Group (GPG), attended the event and delivered the keynote speech.

In his address on behalf of Guangzhou Port Group, Huang Bo welcomed industry leaders to the Pearl River Estuary and Nansha Bay to explore opportunities for cooperation. He noted that the current international landscape remains complex and fluid, while China’s domestic economy is undergoing accelerated transformation and upgrading. As a crucial link connecting domestic and international dual circulation, the port and shipping industry is at a pivotal stage of shifting toward value creation and innovation-driven development. Huang emphasized that, in response to new circumstances and new requirements, Guangzhou Port Group - an important port and shipping enterprise in the Greater Bay Area - has aligned closely with the Overall Plan for Deepening Comprehensive Cooperation between Guangdong, Hong Kong, and Macao in Nansha, Guangzhou, issued by the State Council. The Group has actively contributed to the development of the Greater Bay Area and Nansha, achieving substantive progress in promoting collaboration across industrial and logistics chains and advancing integrated development of ports, industry, and urban functions. He expressed hope that participants would take this conference as an opportunity to jointly discuss major strategies for the Greater Bay Area and the industry, work together to address shared challenges, and strive for a strong start to the 15th Five-Year Plan period—contributing collectively to advancing Chinese modernization through the strength of the port and shipping sector.

During the conference, Huang Bo shared Guangzhou Port Group’s exploration and practical experience in strengthening supply chains, advancing digital and intelligent port innovation, and fostering a greener ecological system, under the theme “Integrating the Dual Circulation through the 15th Five-Year Plan.” He proposed that Guangzhou Port is willing to deepen cooperation with all parties and work together on policy coordination, joint development of standard systems, and improvement of collaborative mechanisms, with the aim of building a smart, interconnected, green, open, and mutually beneficial port and shipping logistics ecosystem. This will further support the smooth flow of domestic and international dual circulation and contribute to building a world-class port cluster in the Greater Bay Area.
