Nansha Port Area of Guangzhou Port Reaches New Highs in Multiple Indicators in November

Recently, the terminals in the Nansha Port Area of Guangzhou Port have overcome multiple external challenges through scientific coordination and active efforts, delivering impressive results across various dimensions, including production organization, service support, and network expansion, with multiple indicators reaching new historical or recent highs.

From January to November this year, Nansha Port Area maintained robust growth in throughput. Notably, the foreign trade container throughput increased by over 20% on a year-on-year basis, and the cumulative volume in the first 11 months has already surpassed the annual total container throughput and foreign trade container throughput in Nansha Port Area’s history, demonstrating its strong hub capacity and development resilience.

In response to the sustained growth in foreign trade demand, Nansha Port Area has improved its overall operational efficiency. In November, Phase I of Nansha Port set new monthly records in the number of liner vessel calls, foreign trade throughput, and the number of truck entries and exits at the gates. The cumulative throughput of Phase II of Nansha Port for the first 11 months and its single-month throughput in November both reached new highs in recent years. To enhance inspection efficiency, the terminal has actively advanced the prefacing, informatization, and streamlining of regulatory processes. By actively collaborating with the customs to implement the supervision model of “inspection before loading”, it has established a robust service foundation for the rapid flow of foreign trade goods.

The port area demonstrated precise and professional service capabilities for key clients and projects. Focusing on the operational demands following the transfer of the Antong Logistics Ansteel project, Phase IV of Nansha Port developed detailed plans in advance. In November, it efficiently handled 891 containers, earning high recognition from clients. Phase I of Nansha Port showed its professional expertise in handling special cargoes, including special vessel operations, energy storage container loading and unloading, and vehicle containerization. Notably, the volume of vehicle containerization in November reached a new monthly record. The successful expansion of key projects has effectively improved the port area’s overall capacity utilization and the flexibility of its shipping network.

Guangzhou Port continues to deepen its global shipping service network, optimize the layout of its international supply chains, and ensure the smooth operation of its industrial chains. Since the beginning of this year, Nansha Port Area has added 10 new foreign trade liner routes, bringing the total number of foreign trade routes to 178. In the first half of the year, the newly added WSA3 route to the Port of Chancay, Peru, became a pivotal point for tapping into emerging markets. In the second half of the year, the port launched the HDS3 route, its first point-to-point e-commerce express route from Nansha, Guangzhou to Los Angeles, USA, enabling a rapid 14-day transit time from Nansha to Los Angeles.

Additionally, the upcoming new ALPACA route to South America will significantly contribute to the further upgrading of logistics channels between the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area and Latin America. This route will also operate stably as a cherry express service, and it is expected that the cherry import volume at Nansha Port Area will achieve further growth this year.(Text | Production Business Department   Picture | Port Media, Picture Library)
